Rotary EV?!
Are you ready for the newest addition to the Mazda family? Introducing the MX-30 R-EV, a plug-in hybrid that boasts a rotary engine and impressive power. This new model has been revealed and it's clear to see that it's a game changer in the industry.
The MX-30 R-EV may look similar to the regular MX-30, but it packs a punch with its range-extending rotary engine and larger gas tank. This hybrid has been designed to provide a balance between electric power and gas power, making it a great option for those who want to reduce their carbon footprint without sacrificing performance.
One of the most exciting features of the MX-30 R-EV is its rotary engine, the first production engine of its kind that Mazda has built since 2012. This engine, known as the 8C, has a displacement of 830 cc and produces 75 horsepower, which is used to generate electricity for the electric motor. This electric motor is more powerful than the regular MX-30 with 168 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque, making it a smooth and efficient ride.
The MX-30 R-EV also has selectable modes for operating the powertrain, including Normal, EV, and Charge mode. In Normal mode, the car operates as an EV but switches to gas power when acceleration demands are high or when the battery is depleted. EV mode runs the car in full EV mode, and the Charge mode allows the driver to set a battery level for the car to target. This hybrid also supports DC fast charging, allowing you to charge from 20% to 80% in just 25 minutes.
The MX-30 R-EV also has a unique design, with rotor-shaped badges on the front fenders and an "E-Skyactiv R" badge at the back. It also has unique wheels and an Edition R model that boasts a red roof, black body, and rotor logos in the headrests and floor mats.
